By John Rittenoure - TULSA, Okla. (March 16, 2021) - A record 31 race schedule for 2021 fires off this weekend when the Sooner Late Model Series season opens on Saturday at Crawford County Speedway in Van Buren, Arkansas.
The Sooner Series visited Crawford County last September where Bobby McGehee picked up a win over three-time defending champion Kip Hughes.
Hughes will try to redeem himself Saturday and get off to a fast start in his quest for a record fourth championship.
Drivers that finished in the top ten at the September show include Eddie Tidwell in third, Damian Patocka was fourth, Wayne Bush followed in fifth, and Steve Johnson, Brand Hunter, Dan Moreno, Gary Lowe, and Jim Hardison rounded out the top ten.
Crawford County Speedway is located at 7118 North Highway 59 in Van Buren, Arkansas. Use exit 5 on I-40 then go 6 miles north on highway 59.
