TULSA, Oklahoma (April 9, 2024) - The APEX Healthcare Partners Sooner Late Model Series season got underway last Saturday at Enid Speedway and Kip Hughes fired the first shot winning the 25-lap main event.
Saturday round two of the 2024 season gets underway at Beaver County Raceway. It will be the first ever visit to Beaver for the Sooner Late Model Series. The track has been closed for several years and there is a lot of community interest in seeing racing return to the Beaver Fairgrounds 3/8’s mile oval.
Joining the Sooner Late Models is Factory Stocks, Sport Mods / B-Mods and Hot Shots. Gates will open at 4 with racing getting underway at 7:30.
Sooner Late Model Series
The Sooner Late Model Series was formed in 2016 by Enid Speedway co-promoter Mark Brill. Brill felt there was not many opportunities for late model competitors to race in Oklahoma and the Sooner Late Model Series was formed. Now the series has grown beyond the borders of Oklahoma with events held in the neighboring states of Kansas, Texas and Arkansas.
